Role Play

Something meaningful to share about ROLE PLAY...

Shakespeare was absolutely right - all the world's a stage and you are on it! It means we all have many roles to play. That means never identify with your role, or you will get very stuck and very stressed. You are not what you do. Your job, position, vocation are just roles. Play the role, never think you are the role - this is the art of making life creative and fun. All great actors dislike being typecast and seen to be good for one particular type of character or role. There is no role you cannot play, if you really want to play it. Which is the same as saying there is nothing you cannot do, if you really want to do it, nothing you cannot be, if you really want to be it. You can even be a Queen or King. You may not have a throne or a court of advisors, but you can create and express all the qualities and behaviours of a 'royal' character - dignity, respect, humility, caring...and many more. Be a 'royal', sit on your inner throne with dignity and self respect, and you will see many other royal qualities emerge through your character. And then...you will feel royal.

Lateral Thinking

If you are good in lateral thinking, then you can be agood strategic thinker or... be a part of Think Tank. Here is an interesting quiz to test your Lateral Thinking abilities --- Think!

1. There is a man who lives on the top floor of a verytall building. Everyday he gets the elevator down tothe ground floor to leave the building to go to work. Upon returning from work though, he can only travel half way up in the lift and has to walk the rest ofthe way unless it's raining! Why?

(This is probably the best known and most celebratedof all lateral thinking puzzles. It is a true classic. Although there are many possible solutions which fitthe initial conditions, only the canonical answer is truly satisfying. )
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

2. A man and his son are in a car accident. The fatherdies on the scene, but the child is rushed to thehospital. When he arrives the surgeon says,"I can't operate on this boy, he is my son! "How can this be?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

3. A man is wearing black. Black shoes, socks, trousers, lumper, gloves and balaclava. He is walking down a black street with all the street lamps off. A black car is coming towards him with its light off but somehow manages to stop in time. How did the driver see the man?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

4. Why is it better to have round manhole covers than square ones? This is logical rather than lateral, butit is a good puzzle that can be solved by lateral thinking techniques. It is supposedly used by a verywell-known software company as an interview question for prospective employees.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

5. A man went to a party and drank some of the punch. He then left early. Everyone else at the party whodrank the punch subsequently died of poisoning. Why did the man not die?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

6. A man walks into a bar and asks the barman for a glass of water. The barman pulls out a gun and pointsit at the man. The man says 'Thank you' and walks out.

(This puzzle claims to be the best of the genre. It is simple in its statement, absolutely baffling and yetwith a completely satisfying solution. Most people struggle very hard to solve this one yet they like the answer when they hear it or have the satisfaction offiguring it out. )
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

SOLUTIONS

1. The man is very, very short and can only reach halfway up the elevator buttons. However, if it is raining then he will have his umbrella with him andcan press the higher buttons with it.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

2. The surgeon was his mother.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

3. It was day time.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

4. A square manhole cover can be turned and dropped down the diagonal of the manhole. A round manhole cannot be dropped down the manhole. So for safety andpracticality, all manhole covers should be round.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

5. The poison in the punch came from the ice cubes. When the man Drank the punch, the ice was fullyfrozen. Gradually it melted, poisoning the punch.
^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

6.. The man had hiccups. The barman recognized this from his speech and drew the gun in order to give hima shock. It worked and cured the hiccups-so the man nolonger needed the water.

在你生命中是廚師還是老和尚

Got this forward email from my friend and i think it's quite meaningful. We need to enjoy the process of everything including our life instead of just focus on the end result. If you are too focus on the result, you will missed and will not enjoy the process. In fact, you will missed out many things.

No Pain, No Gain ......

Monday- after work as usual i went to PG9 for my dancing class. Today i didn't see my instructor but i saw another lady instead. My instructor was sick so her boss came to replace her class. So, it's not dancing class but body workout class instead.

We did a lot of jumping, sweat a lot for the first 30 minutes. After that we did body toning for another 30 minutes. After the class we chit chat for a while and i went back home. I prefer to attend dancing class as i am not used to do so much jumping. Brought my mum for dinner when i reached home , after that we went to TESCO together with my sister.

The next day when i woke up i was totally in surprise...What happened to my leg? How come i can't walk at all? The feeling on my right leg is something more serious than normal cramps. Oh my god.... i tried my best to walk to downstairs and grab some ices to put on my leg and rest for a while. After 15 minutes, i tried to walk again.... OH no, it's serious this time the condition didn't change and it's still that bad. So, i text my friend and told her i'm not going to work today.

Around 2pm in the afternoon, my sister came back and took my to the physio theraphy center. I have been visiting the physio center quite frequently these days, as i have back pain so i have been doing physio for my back since 3 weeks ago. When the staff in the center saw me, they started to ask what happened to me as i just went yesterday for my back and i was fine still when they saw me yesterday.

The doctor asked me to lie down and started to diagnose if the problem on my leg is caused by my back. Then I was on treatment for muscle relaxation, ultra sound etc... After that, the doctor wrapped my leg with plaster and gave me 2 days MC to rest at home. It was caused by muscle strained and ankle joint got sprained.

After this experience, i told myself that i have to be more careful next time. Other than that, this make me realise that legs are very important so we have to wear good and comfortable shoes rather and pretty and nice looking shoes. Comfortable is important especially if we have to spend most of the time walking and standing. Good shoes will be able to support our back and help in our posture.

This is so called "NO pain, No gain" :) know your limit next time and don't work out too much ......

TaiWan Trip (Dec'07)

I supposed to post this 2 months ago ...:P

Hello!!! I'm currently at Taiwan with my sister on vacation.

Wow, it has been a long time since i last travel together or go on holiday with my sister ... I guess it have been more than 10 years ;)

It's her wish to come to TaiWan so i just accompany her to do some shopping and sight seeing. It's always wonderful to have the chance to travel to another country or some places you are not familiar with, at least you will have the chance to learn about different culture and try and see different things.

So, what is nice about Taiwan? First of all, i would say the travel bus. All the buses in Taiwan are double decker, it was my first time travel in a double decker bus! (New experience) They have karaoke set in the bus and you can sing whenever you go. Secondly, it was the first time in my life to see so many ppl crossing the road to get to the night market. I would say if you missed just one step, you would be steped by others like a sardin on the road. I know it sounded very scary but it's the fact. I was very very careful when i crossed the road as you can't imagine, there are more ppl on the road then the cars. This scene was at the Shi Lin Night market.

Other than that, can you imagine the scene where there were more than 20 ppl queing up in front of a stall just to purchase Taiwan famous chicken chop? It was real where you will see a big crowd in front of the chicen chop stall as the crowd are queing up to get the chicken chop!! Incredible long queue in fact......

There are a lot of places to go and nice food nice people around. I was very lucky to get to know a few friends in this trip and after the trip we have become good friends and have been out for a few times. All the memorable moments and unforgettable experience ... ...

HOLA

It has been a while since i last signed in to my Blog

Update from what had happened to me recently:
- I got a new job offer (Security) on Oct 15th and I joined the new team immediately after 2 weeks
- I went to Folsom, Sacramento for training and I was there for a month
- Life in Folsom is a little bit boring, luckily i have some friends as companion there, otherwise for sure i will be bored to death :P (thanks to Lynn, CY, ah Long and CS...)
- I extended to stay in US and spend the last 3 days in Las Vegas
- Las Vegas is a happening place, the hotel we stayed in was cery crowded and we have to wait for nearly 45 minutes to queue for the check in ... so you can imagine how many people are there
- We reached Las Vegas around 3pm on Thursday, the journey supposed to take around 10-12 hours to reach, but thanks to the super driver (CY) he really drove fast and we managed to reach there within 8 hours. They were blamming me because they suggested to start the journey at 8am but i insisted to go at 6am as me and Lynn has booked the show ticket to watch one of the show @ MGM grand hotel (URL: http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/Cirquedusoleil/en/KA/main.htm) Nice show with incredible effect!!
- Last but not least, the most unforgettable post thanks giving day ~ The Black Friday where i spent the whole night shopping with Lynn. Before the sales, me and Lynn spent 3 hours to visit most of the hotel along Las Vegas Boulevard, we managed to walk back to our hotel from M&M shop but it took us 3 hours. After that we started the shopping spree from 12.30am midnight until 10am in the morning. It was the longest shopping i have ever made in my history... somemore it's in winter !!! How did i make it?? :P
- Now I'm back to Penang. Hopefully will settle down and start the new challenge ahead .... New learning curve and new environment to adapt and new people to work with
